Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA)
The Oklahoma County Detention Center (OCDC) is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for all staff and inmates. OCDC has zero tolerance for sexual misconduct of any kind and will impose discipline for said misconduct, up to and including dismissal for staff and serious infractions for inmates who victimize other inmates. Incidents of sexual misconduct will also be referred for investigation to law enforcement when appropriate. OCDC's policies regarding sexual misconduct apply to all inmates as well as employees, contractors, and volunteers.
The Oklahoma County Detention Center has policy 4530.02 Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) (PDF) in place to ensure that all allegations of sexual abuse or sexual harassment are referred for criminal or administrative investigation. Take a look at the PREA Annual Report 2014.
The OCDC and YWCA have established a method to receive third-party reports of sexual abuse and sexual harassment. The OCDC investigates all allegations of sexual misconduct. If you have information regarding a OCDC inmate who has been the victim of sexual misconduct while under OCDC custody please call the YWCA Sexual Abuse Hotline at 405-943-7273 or the OCDC PREA Manager at 405-713-1026.
